Spicy Rice Cake Recipe
YOU get a rice cake! YOU get a rice cake! EVERYBODY GETS RICE CAKES!!
Okayyy I love eating and one of my favorite things I've tried while at Korean BBQ is their spicy rice cakes. All I could think was HOW did they make these amazing things?! Soooo of course I looked into it and tried to whip up some of my own!
It took less than 20 mins to make so legggoooooooo!
Ingredients:
- 23 oz of Rice Cake Sticks
- 2 Tbsp. Gonchujang (chili paste)
- 3 Tbsp. Corn Syrup
- 1 Tsp. Soy Sauce
- 1 Tsp. Ginger Garlic Oil
- 1 Tbsp. Crushed Red Pepper
- 1 Tbsp. Sugar
- 2 Cloves of Garlic minced
- Canola/Vegetable Oil for frying
The first thing you're going to want to do is boil your rice cakes until they start floating, then go ahead and strain them.
While the rice cakes are boiling you can whip up your sauce:
Mix together (really well!) the gonchujang, garlic, corn syrup, soy sauce, ginger garlic oil, crushed red pepper and sugar.
After you've strained your rice cakes, fry them till they get crispy like some popeyes chicken on the outside. (It's kinda hard cause they're a bit sticky so make sure you follow these steps with smaller portions of the rice cakes in intervals)
Then go ahead and add in your sauce and fry it in there with your rice cakes, holding back a small amount to top it all off with at the end right before serving!
Ta-Da you have rice cakes!
Afghangstah out!
